To Whom It May Concern,

Like many of you the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (ALECA) is closely monitoring the outbreak of the COVID-19 and the impact it is having on us all. As a dedicated organization that serves the community, we have decided to take a moment to update all of our members, vendors, and sponsors. First and foremost, our focus is on public safety. We want to ensure that we are taking the necessary steps in response to this national emergency as was allocated by President Trump. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) are recommending along with Governor Doug Ducey that the public begins to actively participate in reducing the spread of the virus by utilizing social distancing.

ALECA has decided it is in the best interest of our community to cancel this year's K9 Trials that was planned for April 18th & 19th, 2020. We have already begun planning for next year’s K9 Trials which will be held at West World of Scottsdale, located at 16601 N Pima Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. The dates for the event have been set for April 10th & 11th, 2021.

We would like to thank all of our valued members, vendors, and sponsors for their understanding of why we will be canceling this year's event. Additionally, ALECA will be issuing an electronic refund to everyone who has already signed up to be a vendor or competitor. We will also be reaching out to our sponsors to see if they would like a refund or if they would like to have us use their donation for other ALECA events that will be taking place later this year.
